I absolutely love painting skies, so I thought it would be fun to paint JUST a sky. The inspiration for this piece came from when we lived in Wanaka, New Zealand. I saw the start of a good sunset so I sprinted up the hill to the closest viewpoint and was rewarded with one of the best sunsets I'd ever seen! A bunch of our neighbors had done the same thing and we all just stood there chatting and taking it in together🥹 I had so much fun recreating the shifting colors and adding lots of texture.
