I painted this piece mostly en plein air, in a nearby town to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Charlie and I visited this sleepy fishing village the day before, and I knew I had to come back to paint it. I took the early bus and set up at this overlook, which made me nervous because I didn’t know if I was in someone’s property😅 I got to chat with locals that passed by, befriended some dogs (that barked at me for a long time which added to my nervousness), and overall had such a memorable morning painting in one of the prettiest spots.
